I would like to say that I find the idea of the videogame very curious and interesting. And also said I think it is a great proposal and the work done is crazy, congratulations for this project, I hope you manage to reach many people.
While I understand that in the search for the idea of aesthetics of the product, the neon is used as a reference for markers such as checkpoints and the idea is to contrast with a darker environment so that these stand out from the rest, I have to say that (particularly in the areas of platforming without floor or areas where the floor goes down, which to say it, there are areas where the hitbox leaves the character stuck until the platform rises again) are very difficult to distinguish and it is a problem the simple fact of advancing and not knowing where it is safe and where it is not.
The timer I think is a very strict limitation, I don't think it's a bad idea, but the time it's given is too little and it's more stressful than anything else.
In the same way, the movement feels a bit orthopedic, since the sensations of jumping and dodging don't seem real in the sense that the gameplay is not as smooth as it should be.
You should link this to your LD submission page so you get the banner at the top that links to your submission (itch has a special field for Ludum Dare in the back-end)
Looks nice, love the tune, plays a bit slowish though. The jumping doesn't feel quite right, physics-wise.
At some point I got frustratingly stuck though and I quit. The gap seems too big to cross. Or does it really need to be pixel perfectly timed? It's the part where there's one moving red platform and the first time a ball is thrown across the gap.
Hi! Thank you for your feedback. I think i know what you are talking about. There is a Dash ability in the game that most players didn't notice, i'm really sorry we didn't have enough time to add a proper tutorial.
Ah, right, completely missed that in the description to be honest. Glanced at it too quickly apparently. The dash definitely makes that part a lot easier, haha :-) Tutorial is not really needed as far as I'm concerned, but maybe others find that useful. I just need a pair of glasses ;-)
We recently added some hints for new players so that they know there is a dash in the game, most people missed that ability, i'm sure your glasses are fine hahaha
